Masteman HSA Environmental Committee

The HSA has formalized an Asbestos and Environmental Committee. We encourage participation from all parents, and anyone with specific knowledge or background would be especially helpful. Anyone interested in joining this committee should email environmental@mastermanhsa.org.

As we seek to understand and navigate asbestos and environmental issues at Masterman and in the district, we at the HSA wish to share comprehensive and poignant information that gives parents and stakeholders a deeper understanding to best synthesize information.
Here are some helpful documents which will provide background information regarding asbestos and environmental issues at Masterman and in the Philadelphia community as a whole.

Please sign the petition and join our letter writing campaign.  Let our city and state leaders know that the District must be transparent and accountable. They must openly and completely share detailed information about the health and safety of our school buildings, in real time – not after the damage to our children’s health has been done. The District must work collaboratively with families and staff at all stages of planning and implementation.

Please act now!  We only have a few weeks before staff and students will return to the building.  We need the District to have a thorough and appropriate plan in place before that happens.

The lack of meaningful engagement of families and stakeholders, in a timely and collaborative manner, is a District wide issue that must not be tolerated any longer!
