Academic Affairs and Wellness Committee
Plans and organizes virtual speaker series to address issues related to wellness for middle schoolers and high schoolers in today’s world.
Auction Committee (Online Fundraising Events for 2020-2021 School Year)
For the 2020-21 school year, the Auction Committee will plan virtual fundraising events with a focus on fun and community building. The in-person auction will return next school year.
Responsible for indoor and outdoor improvements to the school, overseeing Saturday Work Days in the Fall and Spring. We still need volunteers for this important group, but we will not be planning events until we return to normalcy.
Facilitates communications between the HSA and the general membership. Modes of communication include the directory, newsletter, website, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism
A new HSA committee formed this year to address these important issues at Masterman.
Fun, Fitness, Friendship Committee
Brings fun and excitement to the Masterman community by offering virtual activities, including dance, cooking, and more, that celebrate and highlight our many diverse and rich cultures.
High School Liaison
Works to convey, disseminate and share information about HSA with the high school families and staff. Plans events to bring high school families together. Plans, executes and organizes celebration of the high school graduation.
Works to support other HSA committees with standard supplies for events. Also stocks standard supplies for events hosted by the HSA and maintains, stocks and inventories HSA supplies.
Supports volunteering at the Masterman library, as well as organizing the bi-annual bookfair.
Logo Sales Committee
Responsible for selling and developing Masterman logo merchandise both online at the Masterman Logo Store and at in-person Masterman events.
Manages HSA membership for new and renewing members in the HSA. The membership drive supports the HSA budget.
Middle School Liaison
Works to convey, disseminate and share information about HSA with the middle school families and staff. Plans events to bring middle school families together. Plans, executes and organizes celebration of the middle school graduation.
Mutual Aid Committee
A new committee formed this year in response to the severe economic hardships related to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Masterman community in a confidential way.
Plan all welcoming events of new and returning students and families in a variety of ways. Committee does planning work during the summer and is most active at the beginning of the school year.
Rooftop and Open Spaces Committee
Work to develop and implement engaging and inviting outdoor spaces for active and passive recreation for all students. Spaces include the rooftop, the perimeter of the building, and the indoor game area, as well as the garden.
Identifies social events for parents, staff, and students that enrich the school and build community. Two social committee highlights are the Twilight Rooftop Social and the MultiCultural Dinner held midyear.
Staff Appreciation Luncheon Committee
Honors and celebrates teachers, administration, and staff of Masterman with an end of the year party and luncheon.
